關於《失語》

「改變了語言，是否就改變了面對世界的方式？剝奪了語言，是否就剝奪了容身之處？」

《失語》是香港作家劉綺華的第一部長篇小說。

故事圍繞兩位香港中文教師伶與慧。當學校要求約聘中文教師通過普通話基準試，一場教學語言的改變，逐漸牽動二人的工作、關係與選擇。

小說寫語言，也寫身份、生活，以及人在制度與環境轉變下的處境。

「好像什麼都沒有發生。」

《失語》不只在香港引起迴響，作品版權更先後售至英國、美國、日本、土耳其、印尼及泰國等地；英文版 Tongueless 並榮獲 2025 年泰國喬曼娜國際女性文學獎（Chommanard International Women's Literary Award）首獎。
