About the Author

Eugene Luning directs The Union, a ministry within the New Horizons Foundation, which exists for teaching, retreats, podcasting and spiritual counseling in Colorado and around the country. He is the author of Moments with Jesus Encounter Bible, along with many other books. Additionally, he is the cofounder of a real estate technology company, Panoramiq Markets Inc. Eugene and his wife Jenny are the parents of three children, Hadley, Tripp and Hoyt. They live in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where they also lead a weekly fellowship, The Anchor.
Kevin & Kristen Howdeshell are a husband and wife team illustrating a variety of projects including bestselling children's books, food packaging, movie posters, music albums, and editorial spots. Their work is characterized with texture, a mid-century influence and a lean toward meaningful family time. They lead up The Brave Union Studio in Kansas City, Missouri where they raise their three young kids, and enjoy their Betta fish, their treehouse, and trampoline. I love the fact that Eugene does such a great job of helping both the parents and kids step into Biblical accounts in such a way that you get an understanding of what it was actually like at the time. It takes the stories we have heard over and over again and he brings them to life by adding context and perspective from the characters themselves. This is one of the first children's Bibles that our kids get excited to read at bedtime. We have a 3 and 5 year old. Sometimes it can be a bit harder for the 3 year old to access, but our 4 (now 5) year old gets a lot of joy out of it.
